Mission

The mission behind Oven Theory was to create a premium mobile ordering experience for customers seeking high-quality artisan pizza in a modern and convenient format. Many food ordering apps prioritize speed and volume but often lack the atmosphere and branding that make dining experiences memorable. Oven Theory was designed to bridge that gap by combining an elevated restaurant identity with an intuitive mobile interface. The app allows users to browse curated menu offerings, place orders for pickup or delivery, track their purchases, and engage with a rewards program, all within a clean and visually refined experience inspired by upscale pizzerias and modern hospitality brands.

My Contribution

As the UI/UX Designer for Oven Theory, I developed the visual identity, user experience, and mobile interface from concept through high-fidelity design. I began by establishing the brand direction through moodboards, typography exploration, and color system development to create a warm, modern aesthetic inspired by artisan pizza culture. I then designed the app's structure, user flows, and interface components, focusing on menu browsing, ordering, rewards, and account management. The final result was a complete mobile app prototype that balances usability with a polished restaurant brand experience.

The project began with research into restaurant ordering platforms and premium dining brands to understand how digital experiences can support both convenience and brand perception. Many food ordering apps prioritize functionality but often feel generic and disconnected from the restaurant experience. Through visual research and moodboarding, I explored ways to create a warmer and more elevated user experience inspired by artisan ingredients, modern interiors, and upscale hospitality. This phase helped establish the visual direction and personality of the Oven Theory brand.

Planning/Structure

During the planning phase, I focused on organizing the user journey from menu discovery to checkout. The app structure was designed to make browsing categories, customizing orders, tracking deliveries, and managing rewards simple and intuitive. Alongside the navigation system, I developed a visual style guide that included typography, color palettes, and reusable interface components to maintain consistency throughout the experience. This foundation ensured the app remained cohesive while supporting future expansion and additional features.

Sitemap/Wireframes

Once the user flow was established, I created wireframes to map the core experiences within the app, including menu browsing, product pages, ordering, checkout, rewards, and account management. After refining the layouts, I developed a full high-fidelity prototype that translated the brand identity into a polished mobile experience. The final designs feature warm color palettes, clean typography, intuitive navigation, and modern interface patterns that support both usability and visual appeal while reinforcing the premium positioning of the brand.

User Testing & Redesign

A major focus of Oven Theory was creating a seamless ordering experience that felt both efficient and elevated. The interface was designed to reduce friction throughout the ordering process while making menu items, rewards, and account features easy to access. Clear navigation, structured content layouts, and streamlined checkout flows help users move through the app quickly while maintaining the refined atmosphere associated with the Oven Theory brand.
